Švejkova anabaze (Švejk's anabasis) stamp issue of the Czech Republic, September 10, 1997 graphic arrangement: Zdeněk Ziegler engraver: Josef Herčík "A za půl hodiny, když Švejka napojili ještě černou kávou a dali mu kromě komisárku balíček vojenského tabáku na cestu k regimentu, vyšel Švejk z Tábora za tmavé noci, kterou zněl jeho zpěv. Zpíval si starou vojenskou píseň: Když jsme táhli k Jaroměři, ať si nám to kdo chce věří.... A čertví jak se to stalo, že dobrý voják Švejk místo na jih k Budějovicům šel pořád rovné na západ." And a half hour later, after Švejk had still had one black coffee and someone had given him an army bread and a small package of tobacco for his march to his regiment, Švejk left Tábor in the black night, where someone could hear his singing. He sang an old soldier's song: "Když jsme táhli k Jaroměři, ať si nám to kdo chce věří ..." (When we went to Jaroměř, believe me, it isn't a lie). And for the hell, no one knows, how it happened, that the good soldier Švejk went - instead of Budweis - straight to the west. |
