![]() By clicking on a stamp in this entrance hall you will reach the departments of this gallery. The "ARTISTS" department completely is in English. In the other departments, the introduction page (which you reach by clicking) is bi-lingual (German and English), while the other pages of a department are only in German. This is the starting page for all English speaking people who reached this website. The Gallery contains - besides works of art on stamps - a lot of information about background and history of the stamp art in former Czechoslovakia and modern Czech Republic and Slovakia, too. The art of stamp designing and engraving in those countries was always an integrative part of the whole graphic art and its artists. The show is structurized as a virtual gallery with different main departments and special shows which can individually be visited. You also can jump between them. The original and complete website is in German language. Not every German page is translated in English, but will be done step by step in the future. Therefore I recommend a different way through the gallery as you should do, if you speak German. I recommend to start by reading the English
in order to get a first impression about the Czech and Slovak stamp art and then follow the grey arrows for a tour through all
English pages. These pages mainly contain articles about famous Czech and Slovak artists who heavily influenced
the development of Czech/Slovak stamp art. On this tour, you will not have the possibility to visit the German pages
which mainly deal with the stamp artists.
If you also want to visit the German pages, you should go to one of the departments of this gallery by clicking on one of the stamps in the Entrance Hall above. From an introduction page (which includes an English summary of this department), all other pages can also be reached. I promise to continue in translating further pages, step by step. If you only want to see the stamps or the pictures of this gallery, of course you also can visit the German pages of each individual artist. Then click on one of the links at left - and ignore the German text :-). I apologize for any mistake of the English translation of the pages and would be happy if there is anyone to help me in improving the English text. Every message which indicates mistakes is welcome! I WISH YOU A NICE STAY AT THE GALLERY!
