He often returned to this theme in his works and dealt with the wit, troubles and complexity of Shakespeare's play. Particularly "A Summer Night Dream" - full of love, surprise and mystery - always attracted him. In the Shakespeare year 1964, he designed another variation of this theme on a stamp (see the biography page). The picture depicted above is typical both for Liesler's loose connection of main themes and also putting together compositions and colors. |
