A little story

Although I live in Germany only 100 miles away from the Czech borderline, I didn't know anything about Czechoslovakia until I met my wife. I never could imagine to collect Czechoslovak stamps. However, my wife's parents are so-called "Sudetendeutsche" - citizens of German origin in the pre-war Czechoslovakia who had to leave the country after the end of the war. And they had one brother and two sisters still living in the native country. So we often visited our relatives. Once during a visit in Letovice (north of Brno in Moravia), I saw a small album with Czechoslovak pre-war stamps and some from the end of the fourties and the beginning fifties. Till today I don't know, who of our relatives collected these stamps. And because no-one of the relatives had any interest in this little album, I've got it. And this was the starting point of my collection of Czechoslovak stamps (and therefore of this website, too).

This is a private, absolutely non-commercial website only for the needs of information of people who deal with Czechoslovak, Czech and Slovak stamps or philately in general. Therefore I reserve the right to decide which address, offer, name or other things will be posted on these pages.

More than four years ago, when I started to establish this website, I never could expect that it would be so successful. Till today, a lot of visitors came to this site. I'm very glad about it. Thank you to all visitors, particularly those who often and regularly come upon it. I'm also very glad that the information which is offered on this non-commercial site has reached its targed group.

Unfortunately many dead links have collected over the years. Because of many reasons I'm not able to update those links at this moment by myself. Therefore I'm begging pardon to all visitors for this inconvenience and hoping for your understanding. If you would like to help me, please send the new URL, if you would have found any of such broken links. Thank you for your help.
